You Lead Me
A Prayer
You are my faithful Shepherd who leads me on paths of righteousness and restores my soul. You have hedged me behind and before. Instruct me and teach me in the way I should go; guide me with your eye. You will never leave me or forsake me, so I will not fear. The thoughts that you think toward me are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give me a future and a hope. You are my God. My times are in your hands.

O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself; it is not in man who walks to direct his own steps. Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me. May my ears hear your voice behind me, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when I turn to the right or to the left. Spirit of Truth guide me into all truth and reveal things to come. Set my feet in a spacious place, guard my paths, and preserve my way. Be my shield, as I walk uprightly before you.

I hear your lovingkindness in the morning, for in you do I trust. I follow you because I know your voice—it is powerful and full of majesty; it is sweet, and your face is lovely. You quiet me with your love and rejoice over me with singing. From your mouth comes knowledge and understanding. I will not grow weary while doing good, for in due season I shall reap if I do not lose heart.

I am blessed because I fear you and walk in your ways. No one will be able to snatch me out of your hand. I am covered by your feathers and under your wings I take refuge. When I call on you, you answer, and show me great and mighty things that I didn’t know before. You are in me. You are the way, the truth, and the life. Your lovingkindness is better than life. For you Lord God are a sun and shield. You will give grace and glory. No good thing will you withhold from those who walk uprightly.
